At North View Middle School we believe that no significant learning can occur without a significant relationship. Because of this belief we spend a considerable amount of time building community with our building stakeholders. Our hope is that through this work we will make real connections with our school community to develop a positive school climate and culture that is supportive of all its members.
Because of this belief our students spent a considerable amount of time on the first day and week of school working with student leaders and staff to make real connections with each other and learn that people at school care about them. This work help us begin to develop a positive school climate and culture that is supportive of all community members.
As you can see activities included large group activities, community building competitions with their grade level peers and small group activities within their advisory classrooms. Students learned about the school’s expectations for them as community members and got familiar with the most difficult thing about middle school, finding your classes in three minutes!
