Minnesota Student Survey to be given to students in the 8th Grade
Every three years Osseo Area Schools partners with the Minnesota Department of Education; Employment and Economic Development; Health and Human Services; and Public Safety to administer the Minnesota Student Survey.
The survey gathers anonymous information from students about how things are going at school and with their peers, and about health-related thoughts and behaviors. The information helps district and state leaders develop and maintain effective programs and services for students.
This year District 279 students in grades 5, 8, 9 and 11 will take the web-based survey between February 1-12, 2016 (survey date will vary by school).
Participation is voluntary and responses are anonymous and confidential. Students do not provide their names, identification numbers or other personal information. Only overall results (by grade level and by gender) are reported to the school district. No individuals or their families can be identified.
You may request to review the survey questions before determining if your student will take the survey. Staff will inform students that they have the option to decline to take any part of the survey or the whole survey.
The parents of students surveyed will be receiving additional information on how to review the survey and/or have their child opt out of participating.
