Fall Parental Involvement Opportunities

parentalinvolvement1

Dear Parents,

As we move through the first trimester, I wanted to use this opportunity to keep you updated on a number of opportunities available for you to engage in the school’s community.  Three items to note as the school year continues are our upcoming Parent Advisory Group meeting, parent V.I.P days, and our Fall Conferences. Please plan on participating in any or all of the opportunities available to you.

The Parent Advisory Group (P.A.G.) aims to improve communication and involvement among parents, students, and the school.  During our meetings you will be provided with an opportunity;

  • To become informed about what is happening at NVMS,
  • Raise questions regarding policies and procedures at NVMS,
  • Gain clarification regarding issues related to NVMS,
  • Create an environment that supports ongoing parent involvement at NVMS,
  • Address issues, concerns and suggestions presented to the group and to be involved in the solution and on-going feedback.

Our first meeting will be held on October 19th, 2015-2016 from 6:00-7:00pm. Please contact Diana Bledsoe at 763-585-7200 to attend.

I would also like to invite you into the building during the school day for a comprehensive introduction to North View Middle School. Our school’s purpose is to create an educational environment in which students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential, and I would love for you to see this in action during one of our V.I.P. days.

Our first V.I.P. day will be held on October 19th from 10:15-11:40am and will include an opportunity for parents to tour our campus, attend classes, dine in our cafeteria, and see our school in action. If this is something that interests you, please call the school at 763-585-7200 to sign up. Space is limited so sign up early!

Fall conferences will be held on October 20th and October 29th from 3:00 until 7:00pm. Our fall parent-teacher conferences are a platform we use to begin to develop a lasting bond with our parents to increase the likelihood of academic success for their child. We will communicate to parents the areas their students are excelling in and give parents and guardians specific ideas for how to improve upon their student’s performance in school. Please consider joining us.

Sincerely,

Diana Bledsoe,

Principal
